History Of The Church

Prayer Tower

Prayer Tower was founded in February of 1952 by Mother Viola Duckett in her home with her husband Moses Duckett. The saints met often to hold prayer services in the Duckett’s home.

Mother Duckett saw the need for a designated pastor and reached out to Elder William Moore of Illinois, who began pastoring on April 6, 1952. Pastor Moore traveled to Saginaw twice a month.

Pastor Moore was a part of The Michigan Southwest Jurisdiction of C.O.G.I.C.

Eventually, a hall was purchased from a Catholic church at 2031 Astor Street to hold the services.

Brother Louis Bishop was the first convert of the church. In 1964 and then the church

moved to 608 St. 20th Street, which is our current location.

Greater All Nations Prayer Tower

In July of 1972, the Lord called Pastor William K. Moore from labor to reward. Before he passed, he appointed Elder Louis Bishop as the Assistant Pastor.

As God ordained it so, in August of 1972, Elder Louis Bishop was appointed as the Pastor of Prayer Tower.

In 2001 Pastor Louis Bishop had renovations done on the church and by the Lord’s leading, changed the name to Greater All Nations Prayer Tower.

Pastor Louis Bishop became the Superintendent of District 8 and in years later of the Old Landmark District.

In 2015, at the age of 94, “Poppa Bishop” announced to the congregation that he was retiring and recommended his “spiritual son” Elder Michael G. Hayes as his successor.

Present Day

The Nation's Church

On April 2, 2016, Elder Michael G. Hayes Sr. was installed as the third

Pastor of Greater All Nations Prayer Tower Church.

In the fall of 2016, Pastor Hayes was led by God to rename the ministry

to “The Nations Church”. The trustee board agreed to renaming and prepared for the vision and growth under Pastor Michael G. Hayes Sr..

Pastor Michael and Lady Bridget Hayes have currently been serving faithfully for eight years.

They have purposed to reach the community and provide a link to God for the people with the mission to transform lives, inspire communities and empower God’s people.
